Gents,
Here are the cup standings through Monarch. Pete Yang moved up 3 spots with his win at Monarch and is now in the top 5. There are two events left to crown the Champion Golfer of the Year. We could end up with our first repeat cup winner this year. http://www.foreaces.com/current-standings/
Next tournament is Saturday, Sep 10th at Coyote Creek. Ryder Cup format should be fun. Please make sure to RSVP.
Thanks,
John

Tournament Summaries
Dear 2016 Fore Aces Golf Club Members,
Welcome to the 2016 season! Welcome returning members and a special welcome to our new members John Rhee, Chuck Wen, Paul Yun & Michael Kim — super glad you guys are joining us! Hope everyone had a good off-season and was able to spend time with family, friends and swing coaches during the holidays.
While you were working hard on your short games, we (the Board) have been working on the 2016 schedule (http://www.foreaces.com/). We have a full calendar which will include events at the renovated Poppy Hills and at Poppy Ridge for the Club Championship. I think you will enjoy the venues & tournament formats, and I sincerely hope you can make it out to as many tournaments as possible. Honestly, YOU make the tournaments fun, and it’s your participation and banter that makes our gatherings worthwhile and memorable. So I hope you are able make space in your busy schedules and have some fun with us once a month.
Our tournaments are individual stroke play events based on net score. Based on order of finish, members earn points toward our season long competition – The Fore Aces Cup. (Tip: you receive bonus points towards the Cup the more tournaments you play). Last year’s winner, John “Apple” Kim, is our Cup Chairman for this year. He locked in the prize convincingly with a four-putt on the 18th of the Club Championship at Poppy Ridge. We also use the Cup standings to determine the teams to represent us for NCGA tournaments later in the year.
Each event also has an informal team competition determined by the tournament host. Details will be provided in the tournament Evite. We have a Ryder Cup style East Bay vs. South Bay match every year with bragging rights and dinner on the line. South Bay won last year, and boy was that victory sweet (and savory). In addition, we also have prizes for closest to pin and the Money Shot – where everyone kicks in $5 and closest to pin takes it all!
Details:
We will email tournament invitations to club members via Evite (or the equivalent) 3-4 weeks prior to the event. Most events will have about 16-20 spots. You need to RSVP on Evite and submit your payment to secure a spot for the event. Payment options:
A. PayPal (preferred) to foreacesgolfclub@gmail.com. Choose option “Send money to friends or family” to avoid transaction fees.
B. Check (must be received at the club by the deadline stated in each invite)
